What to Expect at Your Free In-Home Window Treatment Consultation

Custom window treatments can feel like a big decision. There are a lot of products, fabrics and options, and you might not know where to start. That’s exactly what our free in-home design consultation is for. Here’s what happens, step by step.

1. Reach out

Request a consultation, call your nearest showroom, or stop in. A designer will reach out within one business day to find a time that works for you. Virtual consultations are available too.

2. Your designer comes to you

Your designer visits your home and brings samples, so you can see colors and materials in your own light. Fabrics can look very different in a showroom than in your living room at 4 p.m., so this matters more than you might think.

During the visit, your designer will:

• Walk through each room with you and talk about how you use it
• Ask about light, privacy, style and anything that bothers you about your current windows
• Show you products that fit, from shades and blinds to shutters, drapery and motorization
• Point out anything worth considering, like tricky windows, doors or hard-to-reach spots

3. A clear quote

After the visit, you get a clear project quote, so you know exactly what to expect before anything is ordered.

4. Final measure

Once you decide, one of our installers visits to inspect, plan and measure precisely. You never have to pick up a tape measure.

5. Installation day

When your order arrives, we schedule installation at your convenience. Our own installers handle everything, and we’re not finished until every shade, blind or shutter looks and works exactly as designed. If you chose motorization, we’ll set it up and show you how to use it.

How to prepare

• Think about each room. Which rooms get too much sun? Where do you need privacy? Which windows bother you most?
• Gather inspiration. Photos from magazines, Pinterest or friends’ homes help your designer understand your style.
• Be there with whoever decides. If you share decisions with a partner, plan the visit when you can both be home.
• Don’t worry about measuring. We take care of it.
